Fix for Xerox Printers

 

  1. Login to the user’s computer with your admin account.
  2. Open control panel/programs and features. 
  3. Delete the Xerox Desktop Print Experience app if present
  4. First run the corresponding batch file to delete the printers from:

S:\!!!!-Staci's Stuff\Xerox Printers\DELETE Printers

  1. Open Device Manager. 
  2. Under Print Queues uninstall all xerox printers listed there.
  3. Open Devices & Printers. 
  4. Select any Xerox printers, right click and remove them.
  5. Open Services and stop the print spooler service.
  6. Navigate to:

 C:\Windows\System32\spool\Printers .

  1. Delete any print jobs there.
  2. Restart the Print Spooler.
  3. Open Regedit. 
  4. Navigate to 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers. 

  1. Delete any instances of Xerox printers there.
  2. Reboot the computer
  3. Login back in with your admin account.
  4. Open control panel\devices and printers you should not see any Xerox printers installed.
  5. Log out and with the user logged in add the appropriate xerox printers from the directory*.

*The printers may not install with eh correct name, but if you right click and look at printer properties you should be able to confirm the correct name. Right click and set each printer as the default in turn. This should change the display name to the correct name.*
