Troubleshooting

Webcams use the RTAV protocol from the Horizon Agent on the Epic side.

The devices are fairly straightforward forward but there are a few ways to check that they are passing to Hyperspace properly.

Cameras do not show up in the device manager but you can locate imaging devices in the device manager to validate that the VMware Virtual Webcam Driver is installed. See the photo below:

It is also possible that the Webcam can inadvertently be redirected as a USB device.

Check the Horizon Client USB devices in the client settings location like what was mentioned previously for scanner troubleshooting. If it is connected, disconnect it.

The patient Photo area can also be used to identify whether or not the issue with the webcam lies on the KKI side or the Epic hosted side.

  1. Open the patient photo section of any patient in Hyperspace.

  1. Click on the Webcam button (While it is acquiring you may need to click and allow flash to run).

  1. If the green light on the webcam lights up and the image is acquired onscreen, the responsible party for the problem is Epic’s configuration, not KKI drivers or hardware.
