Title: Add workstations in Epic 

Device Name/ Program Name: Epic PRD Text Access

Overview: This guide will be used to add workstations in Epic.

 

 

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Double click the Epic Text Access icon on the desktop

 

  1. Log in with your usernsame and the next screen with your password. 

 

  1. Input “1” for Application Access Menu and press enter.

 

  1. Press enter 

 

  1. Input “10” for Chronicles and press enter

 

  1. Input “LWS” for the Database initials and press enter 

 

  1. Press enter key to proceed

 

  1. Input “1” to Enter Data and press enter 

 

  1. Input “1” to Create/Edit workstation and press enter 

 

  1. Input the requested name when prompted to type a workstation name
    1. Examples include:
      1. LT-TESTLAPTOP
      2. BWY-9-MYWORKSTATION
      3. BWY-8-500-EG
    2. IF RECORD ALREADY EXISTS (You will not see “No Workstation Found”)
      1. Verify below items are built
  2. Type “Y” when asked “Would you like to build a new workstation?”
  3. Press Enter to allow system assignment of ID
  4. Verify the workstation name is the same as the requested, then hit enter again.

 

 

  1. Press Enter and then input “Workstation” in the Type field
  2. In the Identifier field, input the name requested WITHOUT dashes
    1. Examples include
      1. LTTESTLAPTOP
      2. BWY9MYWORKSTATION
      3. BWY8500EG
  3. Press enter until you jump to the department filed

 

  1. Enter the Department. Crosswalk the department ID to the location the requested device is physically located in based on the Appendix, and input that ID in the “Department:” field
    1. If this information is not initially supplied, ask the requestor for a best fit

 

  1. Press “Page up” until you get back to the screen to enter a new workstation ID.
