  • The iPad application must be launched, and the Workstation must be logged in for Scriptel to work correctly.
  • The iPad will time out in 15 minutes without activity
  • The mSign application is set to launch automatically at startup

Connecting & Troubleshooting        

Connecting to Epic

 

For Scriptel to connect to Epic the user will have to make sure they have logged into the workstation & have launched the Scriptel application on the iPad.

 

The application on the iPad will appear as:

 

Once the application is launched, you will see this screen on the iPad, if connected to your workstation successfully:

If the application is launched but has not connected to the workstation just yet, you will see this screen:

 

On the workstation, in the system tray, the green icon with a “M” means that the device is connected to the server & workstation and should be working as intended:

 

Signing Consent forms in Epic

 

Launch Epic and sign in:

Navigate to the consent form you would like the patient to sign and click the E-signature option:

 

If no error messages appear the device is working as intended.

 

Choose the signature box for the user to sign:

 

If the signature box appears, the Scriptel E-signature software is working:

Tips            

What to look out for

 

  1. If the iPad screen times out after 15 minutes, Scriptel will disconnect from the workstation, and you will see this screen:

Wake the iPad up, launch the application, and the mSign application will automatically reconnect to the workstation.

 

  1. The mSign application is set to launch automatically once the workstation starts up. Please wait a few minutes for the mSign application to startup. You will be able to tell that the application is up and running if you see this green icon in the system tray:

 

 

If the application has not launched you will not see the green “M” icon, it will be black:

I know this is pretty sad, but maybe a pop out of the icon...us old people don't see well. Truly not important if you can't get a clear picture of the icon. [BL1]
