SEND A MYCHART MESSAGE
MyChart makes it easier for patients to communicate to staff within the organization. Patients/Proxies can ask questions without having to call, and clinicians can answer those messages at their convenience.
How to send a message
- The parent/proxy will log in from a PC, ensure that the profile has been switched to the patient’s name on the top right.
- Click Messages in the toolbar.
- Click Send a message in green.
- You will get 3 options, click “Ask a medical question."
A. Refill a medication
B. Ask a medical question.
C. Ask a customer service question.
- Click Next for the disclaimer.
- You will get 5 more options, click the option that applies:
A. Non-Urgent Medical Question
B. Prescription Question
C. Test results Question
D. Visit Follow-up Question
F. Attachment for Clinician Review
- Click the provider's name. The blank message will open, ensure that the subject and body has been filled, and press Send.
You can attach a file to the message. Click the paperclip to select/upload the file you need to send. |
A patient or Guardian may contact you stating that he/she wants to send a message to a specific doctor, may not be showing in MyChart. Providers might not be available in the selection list for the following reasons:
***If the patient is unable to reply to a MyChart message, it might be because the message age has exceeded the number of days by default, replies are allowed for up to 21 days. Instruct the patient to send a new message from the Messages activity. |
